Parental Burnout
Parental burnout is a state of deep physical and emotional exhaustion caused by chronic parenting stress, which ordinary rest alone does not fix.
Unlike normal tiredness, it does not lift after one early night, because the cause is months or years of giving with too little coming back. It typically shows up as overwhelming depletion, emotional distance from your children, a much shorter fuse, and a sense of being an ineffective parent no matter how much you do.
It thrives on chronic stress with no recovery and grows in isolation. It is common, it is not failure, and it is recoverable with real rest and support.
