Mum Rage

Definition

Mum rage is the sudden, white-hot anger that erupts over something small, usually followed by a heavy wave of guilt.

It is not about the spilled drink. The rage is a pressure valve that builds invisibly all day from being needed every minute, carrying the mental load, and running on too little sleep, and then one tiny thing opens it.

It is extremely common and rarely admitted out loud. It does not make you a bad parent. If it feels constant or frightening, it is worth speaking to your GP, as it can be linked to burnout or postnatal anxiety.
